Team of Guides

  • Rodney Campbell

    Your Head Guide

Rodney Campbell, a third generation Montana native, has been fishing Montana waters since 1964 and guiding in southwest Montana for the past 20+ years. He will use that experience and knowledge to find you the most fishable water and give you the best possible fishing trip. As a licensed outfitter, he is both professional and conscientious. Rodney is active in river conservation and practices catch-and-release fishing.

Spend the day drift boat fishing or wade fishing with Rodney, choosing from the Yellowstone River, Gallatin River, Madison River, Missouri River, and the Jefferson River. All day trips are based out of Bozeman, Montana, which is ideally-located for access to Montana's most legendary fisheries. Four major airlines serve Bozeman's new air terminal, so getting here is easier than ever.

Rodney has a wealth of knowledge about regional history and the area's wildlife which he looks forward to sharing with you. In the off season, Rodney is a ski patroller at Bridger Bowl ski area and a nationally certified EMT (emergency medical technician), helping to ensure your safety on each and every trip. Rodney's combination of experience and enthusiasm means that your trip will more than just a memorable day on the water.

  • Scott

Scott has guided in Montana and Idaho for 23 years (as well as one summer in Alaska) -- to say he enjoys guiding is an understatement. Scott is a superior casting instructor (both single and two-handed rods)  and will help improve your casting while teaching you the finer points of reading water and the secrets to catching trout in the West. A day on the river with Scott will likely see an improvement in not just your casting and overall fishing techniques, but your catching skills as well. In the winters, Scott is a ski patroller at Bridger Bowl, and he's married with two children (a seven year son and an eleven year old daughter). Scott's just now teaching his son how to row a drift boat – after all, you have to learn how to row before you can fish, that's the rule!

  • Jim

If there's one thing that fish truly fear, it's Jim. A Wyoming native, Jim has lived in Bozeman, Montana, for the past 25 years and knows the surrounding waters like the back of his hand. He has been a fishing guide for ten years, working for various outfitters in the area. He has been a fly fishing model and guide for L.L. Bean, appearing on the cover of their fly fishing catalog (twice). When he's not fishing, Jim is the Assistant Ski Patrol Director at Big Sky Resort. He is known however, for always keeping his fly rod in the back of the truck alongside his skis – just in case.

  • Tim

Tim grew up in Maine where his dad first handed him a fly rod at the age of 7.  He has many memories of casting to brook trout from a canoe on secluded ponds in the 'Pine Tree State.'  Tim graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in biology, received his masters in biomechanics from Montana State University, and has been guiding in Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming ever since.  Tim is an extremely passionate and patient instructor who enjoys creating an unforgettable fly fishing experience for all.  His background in biomechanics allows him to evaluate, analyze, and improve fly fishing techniques in an efficient and professional manner.  Whether you’re a beginner wanting to try fly fishing for the first time, an intermediate wanting to improve your fly fishing skills (casting, presentation, knowledge of entomology), or an expert seeking to “rip some lips,” Tim is the guide for you.  Tim lives in Bozeman with his wife Kim and their two children. During the off season Tim can be found on the slopes of Bridger Bowl as a member of the Bridger Ski Patrol.
